AI HATERS, HELLO

My name is Aimee, but most people know of me as Pyropex Aurorin.

You clicked. So I'm going to assume you have an opinion.
Good. I have one too.

DO YOU DRIVE?

Do you drive?
If you don’t, that’s fine. I’m sure you know somebody who does.
So let me ask you something.
If you drove and used a Sat Nav instead of a paper map, does that mean you are cheat driving?
Would people start hating on you for that?
Would they tell you that you aren’t a real driver because something is helping you get where you need to go?
Because reading a map whilst driving is quite dangerous.
Having AI talk to me so I can keep my eyes on the road and still know where to go is less dangerous.
It is helping me do something.
It is making the task easier.
It is a tool.

EVER NEEDED TO KNOW SOMETHING?

Ever needed to know something?
“What does this symptom mean?”
“How long do I cook this for?”
“Why is my car making that noise?”
“What does this word mean?”
“How do I fix this?”
“What time does that place close?”
“Is this normal?”
“How do I get there?”
“What year did that happen?”
“What does this medication do?”
“Why won’t my phone do this?”
“How do I remove this stain?”
“What should I do if my child has a temperature?”
“What does this error message mean?”
“How do I spell this?”
“What’s the difference between these two things?”
“How do I make this?”
“What am I looking at?”
“How do I learn how to do this?”

You’ve searched for something like that before, haven’t you?

EVER ASKED GOOGLE OR CHATGPT?

So what did you do when you wanted the answer?
Did you Google it?
Did you ask ChatGPT?
Or did you get yourself ready, get your family ready, leave the house, travel to the local library, find the correct section, find the correct book and start reading until you eventually came across the information you needed?
If you use Google or ChatGPT to search for a symptom or a piece of information instead of walking to the library and grabbing a book to read from, does that mean you are cheating knowledge?
Would that cause hate on those doing that?
I use Google and ChatGPT to help me find information on things within seconds, without having to get my whole family ready and out of the door to go to the library etc.
It is a tool that makes finding information easier.

DO YOU CREATE/LISTEN TO MUSIC?

Do you listen to music?
Do you listen to released tracks on Spotify?
Okay.
Then what about AutoTune?
Does using AutoTune on your vocals mean you aren’t an “organic” artist because now your voice doesn’t sound like you anymore?
Using AutoTune is a tool to help build confidence within independent artists.
Every artist uses it, hence why live performances always sound different to released tracks on Spotify.
So does using that tool suddenly mean the artist behind the microphone disappears?
No.
It is a tool being used to help create the finished result.

GOT ALEXA? SIRI? A SMART HOME?

Do you have Alexa?
Do you have an interactive home?
Do you ever ask something to turn your kitchen light on?
Or turn your TV off?
And if you don’t, that’s fine.
Do you know somebody elderly?
Do you know somebody with a chronic illness?
Do you know somebody with mobility issues?
Do you know a parent trying to juggle children and everything else they need to do?
What about asking Alexa to turn on your kitchen light, or turning the TV off instead of getting off your bottom and actually walking to do it yourself?
Does that mean you are cheating life?
Alexa wired into my interactive home makes things easier for growing families, parents juggling children, elderly who can barely walk, those who suffer from chronic illnesses and have mobility issues.
It makes a task easier.
It takes weight off somebody’s shoulders.
It is a tool.

SO WHY DOES AI SUDDENLY CHANGE THE RULES?

So now we get to AI.
And suddenly, for some reason, the rules change.
I am a Hybrid Artist.
I control AI to do what I need it to do, in order to help me.
It is a tool that allows me to do something that I couldn’t do with my bare hands.
Just like reading a map whilst driving.
Just like using Google or ChatGPT to find information within seconds.
Just like AutoTune helping an artist with their vocals.
Just like Alexa helping somebody control things around their home.
AI is a wonderful thing if it is used as an asset to help you do something that takes weight off your shoulders, makes a task easier or provides you with something that substitutes something you cannot afford to purchase physically.

WHY DO I USE AI?

I use AI because it provides tools that are not accessible to me in physical form. I don't have the privilege of knowing how to play an instrument, or a Studio where I can record my vocals. Instead I use AI-assisted platforms such as Suno. I write all my songs myself, I demonstrate and create the foundations for my beats/melodies/music, I use DAWS to mix and master my tracks before finally choosing whether to publicly upload/release a track. Not everyone is going to like my music, and that is ok. I am making music for myself, you cannot please everyone in the world so stop trying to create Music for other people.

As long as you like YOUR music, that's all that matters.

AND YES, AI CAN BE ABUSED.

There are some out there that abuse the use of AI and use it for the wrong reasons.
I know that.
You know that.
But creating music isn’t a wrong reason.
Using AI as a tool to help me create something isn’t the same thing as abusing AI.
I control AI to do what I need it to do.
The tool is helping the human.
The human is still there.

THE ACTUAL HUMAN BEHIND IT

So maybe stop focusing on the word AI and start focusing on the person that is using it.

The actual human behind it.

ENTER THE DEBATE ROOM

Agree. Disagree. Challenge the argument. Just don’t attack the person.

I’ll go first 👀 I’m a Hybrid Artist, and I use AI as part of my creative process, but the ideas, direction, choices, edits, lyrics, concepts and final decisions are still mine. I don’t think the conversation should simply be “AI = bad” — I think it should be about how the technology is actually being used. Agree with me, disagree with me, challenge something I’ve said — I genuinely want to hear different perspectives. Just keep it about the argument, not the person. What’s your take? 🔥
